Mit drei Studioalben, „My Turn“ (2014) „Backgrounds“ (2015) und „HEAVY HEART“ (2019) und weit über 200 Konzerten in Deutschland und ganz Europa sowie durch etliche, lobende Pressestimmen hat der facettenreiche Trierer in den letzten Jahren auf sich aufmerksam gemacht. Hinter JAWKNEE MUSIC steckt, wenngleich die Songs häufig nach aufwändigeren Arrangements klingen, einzig das musikalische Multitalent Johannes Steffen, der seines Zeichens auch noch Sänger bei A HURRICANE’S REVENGE, und Schlagzeuger bei MATCHES ist.

Seine unverwechselbare Stimme kann sowohl weich und melancholisch als auch hart und rau klingen und trägt nicht unmaßgeblich zur Prägung eines ganz eigenen Sounds bei, der sich über die Jahre immer weiter gefestigt hat.
Abwechslungsreich ist auch die Aufmachung der Songs – sowohl die Solo- als auch die Stücke in Bandbesetzung (Cello, Drums, E-Gitarre) wurden zumeist gänzlich in Eigenregie eingespielt.

Mit seiner dritten Platte „Heavy Heart“ (released 13.12.2019, Homebound Records) geht der Trierer nun neue Wege: Es wurden befreundete Musiker ins Studio eingeladen, die ab sofort auch live die volle Bandbreite seiner Musik im Rock-Band-Format auf die Bühne bringen werden. Darüber hinaus ist der sympathische Trier weiterhin solo unterwegs auf den Bühnen dieses Landes.

Behind JAWKNEE MUSIC, although the songs often sound like more elaborate arrangements, is the musical multi-talent Johannes Steffen, who is also a singer with A HURRICANE’S REVENGE, and drummer with MATCHES.

His unmistakable voice can sound soft and melancholic as well as hard and rough and contributes not insignificantly to the formation of a very own sound, which has been consolidated over the years.
The presentation of the songs is also varied – both the solo and the band pieces (cello, drums, electric guitar) were mostly recorded entirely by himself.

With his third record „Heavy Heart“ (released at Homebound Records), the Trier native is now breaking new ground: musician friends were invited to the studio, who will now also bring the full range of his music live on stage in rock band format. In addition, the likeable Trier continues solo on the stages of this country.
